Happy Birthday, Sam Adams!

Samuel Adams, in my opinion, was one of the greatest American revolutionaries – a leader in the nullification of the Stamp Act, a leading role in the events that led up to the Boston Tea Party, a member of the Continental Congress and much more.

Make sure to read today’s featured article, by Mr. Adams himself, on the issue of state sovereignty.

And here’s my favorite, and possibly most famous, Sam Adams quote:

“It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.”

"Yeah..ya rite..!" Sam...and you too...Michael! and I also wish to add here...from Sam Adams birthday letter referenced above...

(Sam Adams..."I am fully persuaded that the population of the U S living in different Climates, of different Education and Manners, and possesed of different Habits & feelings under one consolidated Government can not long remain free, or indeed remain under any kind of Government but despotism.”)

Happy very belated birthday Sam…so far we in the city state of New Orleans have despite Katrina aftermath (and the centralists here as well as scalawags and carpetbaggers ) have managed to embody precisely why your comments are true in other ways…We are different and intend to stay that way!
