Passion is the backbone of political activism, a backbone that has proved considerable in recent months.
Let’s face it- political struggles have never been about material gain for those on the front lines. What motivates millions of politically active Americans? A passionate belief that what they are doing will benefit their children and grandchildren. It’s why I do what I do in my TAC efforts and it’s what whipped up the first signs of a a formidable opposition to Obama in the 912 movement, tea partiers and the like.
These groups have massed in short order to become one of the most visible forces in the current political spectrum, so why are so many of them moving on?
In a word, direction.
In one conversation with a former 912 organizer, I asked him why he thought the 10th Amendment was the best thing for him to rally behind and his answer was telling.
“The 912ers have a ton of energy built up. They are gathered and motivated and showed the world that, but now what?”
Many are finding the 10th Amendment movement is a perfect ‘next level’ of sorts for the 912ers and all those other passionate patriots who are standing up in the thousands all over the nation. State sovereignty provides a tangible goal and a positive direction for the 912 movement and really fits nicely with the principles and values established in that camp.
If you know people in 912 groups, share the 10th movement with them and pass along stories of those who have found a long term direction in the state sovereignty effort.
Oh and btw, please be sure to tell them that it’s NOT about secession…
Long live patriotic dissent!

The solution:
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
Get the Feds off our back. The Federal Government is sucking us dry but the reason for that is our State Government. Poor judgment on the part of the electorate has placed an anti American government in power in Washington and in Sacramento. The Tenth Amendment protects us from this form of tyranny from the Federal Government but the State government has failed to assert our Constitutional rights, the rights for which so many have laid down their lives. Every one knows one rotten apple spoils the barrel. At this point, all but the simplest hind can readily perceive that the barrels are rotten and so replacing one apple only results in another apple turning rotten.
The proper way to start is at the lowest level. The town and city councils and mayors have set us off on the road to disaster by failing to protect us from the problems of over development. As the local planning committees have approved new developments of housing the mayors and council members have bought them off without due care for the effects of overloading the infrastructure of their town or city. I would, at this point remind everyone that Southern California is a desert. Water has always been a consideration and periodic droughts have been our way of life. To allow over development in an area such as ours is criminal but the councils and mayors continue to sign off on new development with wild abandonment.
Where our town and city mayors and council members thus betray us we must put them out of office as soon as possible and replace them with people who will meet our needs.
We must contact our State Assembly members and DEMAND that they assert our rights under the Tenth Amendment as is our Constitutional Right and, if they refuse, replace them with loyal United States Citizens who will represent US.
Three weeks ago I sent my State Assemblyperson Mary Salas, ( a Socialist Democrat ) a letter asking her to represent me by authoring a bill similar to the Oklahoma bill to declare California a Tenth Amendment State. To date, I have recieved a rousing nothing in response. Not even an acknowlegement of reciept. It was what I expected but the other assembly members will not even begin to listen. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
Don’t expect a reply John – you’re more of a nuisance to these thugs than anything else. But, keep pushing. And maybe try focusing on supporting Mary’s opposition!
I agree wholeheartedly, this is where the Constitutional teeth is for the TEA paryers and 9/12rs, and all other people aggrieved by actions taken by the federal government.
The States are designed you be our voice and backbone in the fact of unconstitutional oversteps by the Federal Government.
When your done protesting this is where you start organizing your defence.
