Those of you who’ve tried to visit this site over the last few days have obviously had some significant trouble doing so. It’s been a pretty bumpy ride, but it seems resolved at this point. Here’s the story…
Over the weekend, we started having some significant site downtime for short periods. We immediately reported these issues to Dreamhost, our hosting provider, and they worked to get things up and running relatively quickly.
But, problems persisted – the site would keep timing out or run slowly. Obviously there was a bigger issue. It was running pretty solid Sunday evening, but crashed altogether on Monday AM. We heard very little from Dreamhost on Monday, which is quite unusual for them, but they did keep customers updated on their status page.
By Monday evening, they gave notice that the server that TenthAmendmentCenter.com was hosted on was “toast” and would need all new hardware.
5 Hours later, our data was fully transferred to the new hardware and we’ve been nice and stable since then. We’ve boosted our VPS resources, just in case, but expect things to run like normal this way forward.
Thanks to everyone for your emails and inquiries about what was going on!
