RonRamseyRunning for Governor in 2010, Ron Ramsey has stepped up to the plate in support of the 10th Amendment and limited, Constitutional government.

In the past week, he’s signed the 10-4 Pledge for the Constitution, in which he affirms that “All just political authority is derived from the People, and government may only be established and maintained with their consent,” and where he promises that his “votes will always be in favor of the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of this State.  Every issue.  Every time.  No exceptions.  No excuses.” (thanks to Lesley Swann and the TN 10th Amendment group in presenting Ron the pledge!)

Also this week, Ramsey  joined efforts to uphold the Firearms Freedom Act, which was overwhelmingly approved by the General Assembly this year.  Lt. Governor Ramsey is supplying a letter in support of the plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed on almost identical legislation in Montana to validate the principles and terms of the Act.  The lawsuit was filed after federal officials claimed that both the Tennessee and Montana Firearms Freedom Acts were null and void.
