It looks like some members of the Republican establishment are starting to fear primary challenges by the Tea Party folks. The Wall Street Journal reports that Colorado Republicans have adopted a “Platform for Prosperity,” intended to placate populist outrage, and are strongly encouraging all candidates for state office in 2010 to get on board.
The platform stresses limited government, fiscal restraint, opposition to further stimulus spending and a determination, it says, to push back against “a federal government that is too big, too intrusive and all-too-eager to seize power from the states.”
Let’s just hope they mean that last part. There’s nothing quite so aggravating as politicians who preach states’ rights when the other party is running Washington, then proceed to trample the 10th Amendment with things like No Child Left Behind and Medicare Part D. But then again:
“At the end of the day, the tea partiers don’t have anywhere else to go,” said Eric Sondermann, an independent political consultant in Denver. “If they show up at the polls next year, it won’t be to pull the Democratic lever.”
Of course, thinking like that is what got us here. Voters should forget party labels and back candidates whose understanding of the Constitution mirrors their own. Only then will the people, not the federal government and its courts, rule again.
I'll take what ever I can get when ever I can get it. Maybe they are doing it just while the Democrats are in Washington, but the fact is they are doing it and we can uses it to advance our cause.
I seem to remember a similar hypocritical fight between the federalist and the anti federalist 200 years ago, why not have anther one. As I said before, Washington politicians whether they call themselves, Democrats or Republicans are not going to help us in this cause simply because it is a basic conflict of interest for them.

The very best we can do is be sure to elect people to Washington who will for whatever reason not appose the acts of our States, whether the reason be incompetence, values, or political promises we hold them to.
To expect more form the Federal politicians is to:
1: Require the power corrupted majority we will not get much less maintain because of the same corrupting effects of power.
2: Somewhat missing the long term goal of maintaining the power ballade AGAINST the inevitable ongoing assault by the power mongering politicians on both sides. In short if our states are not strong enough to fight this battle and hold the line on their own(which includes pushing back when the feds go too far) then the ballade will not be maintained.
So the States not Washington have to be the ones that do this! Because their the only one’s who’s natural human/politician nature interest will drive them to hold the line in favor of the states over the long run. Precedence is very important here!
A new WPA for 2009 is a chain gang solution to joblessness. Obama said: the interests of community are more important than are the interests of the individual. He promised change. Change must then mean to abandon individual freedom. The chain gang is one way to do so. You can call his ideas left, socialist, communist, fascist, monarchist or any others that turn you on, but in reality, there are only two different political forms. The oldest is where the few elite rule the many, part of all those labels. They have always favored a chain gang. The newest is where the many rule themselves, guided by a moral consensus and written law, i.e., individual freedom. Conservatives and libertarians say the interests of individuals are more important than are those of the community. They believe when individuals prosper, their families and communities prosper and government works best staying out of their way. Modern Democrats believe community interests are most important. They claim they can better define and govern community interests. They expand the role of government to serve those interests and as a few elite, will rule the many.
