bootThe following letter is from Louisiana State Senator, A.G. Crowe to all the other legislators in that state. He’s a 10th Amendment Pledge signer and author of SCR2, Louisiana’s State Sovereignty Resolution, which passed both houses in 2009.

Linda and I want to take a moment to let you know that it is an honor to serve with each of you as we all work together to make our great state of Louisiana even greater.

As we see in the news daily the great debates about the federal government taking on more and more, the rights of the states are diminishing right in front of us.

What we are witnessing today and over the last few decades is contrary to the rights of the individual states as pointed out in the 10th Amendment of the United States Constitution.

It is for those reasons many states (including us here in Louisiana via SCR2) have passed legislation to educate and remind citizens of the proper role of the federal government and the states as spelled out in the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

It is not about race, party, gender, age, rich or poor.

The soverienghty of the states and the right to pass laws in our own states reflecting the individualism of each state is about to be over.

It can happen. It is already happening.

If we continue down this road, there will not be a need for state legislators. As it is right now, many federal laws passed by Congress conflict with the wishes of the average citizen here in Louisiana. When there is a conflict, it usually ends up in the federal courts and ultimately, the United States Supreme Court, totally out of the control of influence of any state or citizen.

This is not a problem exclusive to the current administration in Washington. The federal government’s trampling of the rights of the states has been going on for decades.

It is time that we, as state legislators here in Louisiana, stand up to defend the 10th Amendment and the U.S. Constitution.

And so I am asking you to consider joining with me to protect us from the intrusion of the federal government.

Many, if not all of you, voted in favor of SCR2 in the last session which simply resolved that we should recognize and the federal government should abide by the 10th Amendment.

Please email me if you want to join with me in a support statement (see below) of the 10th Amendment.

This important responsibility to challenge the federal government and its unconstitutional actions falls directly on our shoulders.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this email.

Linda and I wish each of you a very Merry and Blessed Christmas.

Sincerely,

A.G.
