The Industrial Impact Subcommittee of the House Commerce Committee is attempting to prevent legislation introduced by Rep. Susan Lynn from making their way to the House floor. Four pieces of legislation introduced by Lynn have been deferred to the subcommittee’s to the last calendar meeting. According to a letter sent to a Tennessee Tenth Amendment Center member, Rep. Lynn believes that the Democrats on the committee do not wish these bills to go before the full House for a vote, and are claiming that they are too partisan.
The four pieces of legislation being obstructed by this subcommittee are essential to the furtherance of Tennessee’s sovereignty and pushing back the federal government’s expansive agenda. We need immediate action by Tennessee citizens to push these bills out of committee and let the legislators who are obstructing these bills know that their actions will not be tolerated in this election year. The four bills being held are:
HJR704 – a resolution protesting the proposed federal review and preemption of state health insurance laws,
HB2622 – a bill that would prevent the state legislature from requiring any person to participate in any health care system,
HJR722 – a resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Tennessee that would establish a free enterprise system of government for the state, and
HJR745 – a resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Tennessee preventing any person or health care provider from being penalized for refusing to participate in any health care plan.
It is important to contact the legislators listed below immediately and insist that they bring these bills to a vote immediately.
