In part two of our Tenth Amendment Forum coverage, we focus on California Gubernatorial candidate Chelene Nightingale.  Like the Ron Paul presidential campaign three years ago, Nightingale’s message has resonated in social and alternative media.  CATAC’s Bryce Shonka followed Nightingale with the event’s final statement.

Behind the Tenth Amendment Forum was a collaboration between Gene Bolsoni and George Miller, who booked the speakers as well as promoted the event to various candidates as well as advocacy and activism groups- all in their spare time.

“Many of the people here in attendance were organizers of active groups and will be passing this message along.” said Miller.

Bolsoni, who had never been active in politics previously, stood before the crowd with his young son and thanked those who had come out for the event.

“Well this is our second event and I see three times the number of people from last time,” Bolsoni said, “Looks like we’re going to need a bigger room!”

Many average Americans, far removed from the political class, have been activated by intrusion of the Federal Government.  Many of those see state sovereignty as our last remaining option.

“I see the damage that is being done to the country.  My response was to get involved.  I was looking for something and the Tea Parties were not doing it, they just seemed too scattered.  When I heard Michael Boldin talking about state sovereignty on the Mike Church show, I found my movement.  I then wanted to do something to make a difference, but it had to be bigger than me emailing my friends and them emailing their friends.  I wanted to get people out and create something to bring new people to.” added Bolsoni, a carpenter by trade.

In the exploding state sovereignty movement, similar stories are the rule rather than the exception.  Bolsoni, Miller and the others in attendance listened to a slew of political candidates with a rare message- that one must put the Constitution ahead of their political party, even when it’s not personally appealing or advantageous to do so.

“People are not educated on their options under the constitution and that needs to change.  Even if they don’t study the whole document, people need to at least understand the power that they have to refuse unconstitutional demands by DC.” said Bolsoni.

The 10th Amendment

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
