All members of Congress and the President who vote in favor of a war should be forced to serve front line duty for the duration of the conflict.

They should also turn over all personal property to the war effort.

If they refuse, then it proves the war is not a 'moral imperative' but rather for their own perceived gain.

We have fought numerous wars since WWII without a declaration. Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo. Calling it something other than war is not acceptable. 58,000 men died in Vietnam's "police action". Some of them were friends of mine. Korea was called a War Project. 26,500 U.S. troops died, along with 17,000 U.N. troops. In all with civilians 4 million lives were lost. We lost the first Korean War, (notice I said first), we lost Viet Nam, and ultimately we will lose Iraq, and Afghanistan, as the Soviets did. All without the consent of the people. Yet Congress continues to fund these contingencies. We need our troops home, there's a war brewing here. Ron Paul is right, bring them home.

This article had me up until the point it said that 911 was crime, afghanastan was for oil, and no WMDs. I don't know if this author is aware that crimes are committed against individuals while wars are waged against nations. Al-queda had no beef with the people who owned the twin towers and did not direct its wrath at them specifically but aimed it at an entire nation.

The invasion for afghanastan was planned but only because the outgoing administration planned it. Clinton knew they were dangerous and the Bush administration was going to continue it and if we attacked afghan because of a failed oil contract then where does 911 play into this?

No WMDs. Duh! On that one the government screwed up but, once again, the previous administration also thought that had WMDs.
