The fact that we have a different majority in the MN Senate and the MN House for the first time in nearly a half century, does not necessarily guarantee any changes in an out of control tax and spend government!

So what options do We the People have?  How can we change things?  We can begin by sharing some Constitutional indoctrination with our newly elected representatives as opposed to them sharing some political indoctrination with us.

Take a look at the Tenth Amendment, which Thomas Jefferson referred to as the ‘cornerstone” to the Constitution:

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively or to the people”.

We can find the delegated powers listed in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution.  Any federal legislation, regulation or mandate that can NOT be attributed to one of those powers listed is in fact unconstitutional.

In his opposition to the Alien and Sedition Act of 1798, which made it a crime to criticize the president or members of congress, Jefferson wrote that this was in fact a violation of the 1st Amendment right to free speech and therefore unconstitutional and no law at all and declared that the states make it null and void.  This was the first time Nullification was used in political discourse and as a result, the Alien and Sedition Act was repealed.

We the People of Minnesota are presented with a great opportunity to quickly ascertain if our elected state senators or representatives are a part of the solution or a continuing part of the problem and need to be recalled and replaced.  If we see our elected representatives authoring and/or supporting resolutions to Nullify unconstitutional federal legislations, regulations or mandates such as Obamacare and others, they are indeed a part of the solution.  If they choose not to author or support these resolutions, they are representing the problem of an out of control, tax and spend larger government…NOT the People.  We have a new shift in the majorities of both state houses for a reason.  People are fed up with the problem and want a solution!!

If you live in Minnesota, work and are interesting in paying less taxes and keeping more of your money for things you and your family need… you can help!!   Contact your elected representatives in Minnesota and encourage them to become a part of the solution!!  You can make a difference!!

Depending on who you ask, we have a state budget deficit in Minnesota in the neighborhood of $5 billion dollars.  A “significant amount” of this deficit can be directly attributed to unconstitutional, unauthorized, unfunded federal legislations, regulations or mandates.  Think about how much taxpayer money (your money) is needed to fund the “administration” of these unconstitutional federal programs.  This alone can reduce our state budget deficit by a “significant amount”.
