What is a Statesman?

According to Karl Marx a government should do what is best for the greater good of the greater number. Unfortunately, there are many elected officials in our Country that have embraced his philosophy

In a totalitarian state the government controls the people whlle in a Republic the people control the government. Dictators can not enslave a people without first deceiving them. They invariable will convince the people that they must voluntarily give up a portion of their individual liberty in order to achieve public safety.

In a Republic the people are subject to laws that protect the life, liberty and property of the people while in a totalitarian state, the government controls the people with rules, regulations and ordinances. In a Republic, the people are free to do whatever they want as long as they do not violate the rights of others. In a totalitarian state the people must be given permission or granted a license before they can exercise on of their unalienable rights.

In a Republic a crime is commited when one party is injured by another. No crime can be commited unless there is a victim. In the totalitarian state a crime occurs whenever a person breaks one of their rules.

The Founding Fathers drafted the Constitution to prevent the abuse of power by elected officials. Even though their intentions might be honorable, an elected official can not lawfully deprive the people of their rights under the pretense of taking care of them. Officials that put the best interest of their community ahead of the rights of the individual plant the seeds of tyranny.

A statesmen is a public servant that represents the people and defends the Constitution while a politician’s says whatever he needs to say to get elected and follows the Constitution whenever it is convenient to do so.

We need to separate the sheep from the goats. We need to identify those the truly believe in individual liberty and personal responsibility and those that the liberty of the individual must be sacrificed for the greater good of the community.

There is only one part of this I disagree with; We need to identify those the truly believe in individual liberty and personal responsibility and those that the liberty of the individual must be sacrificed for the greater good of the community.

We need to identify those who by acts show individual liberty and personal Responsibility unto themselves and stand tall as a Public within a Republic, to be individual, a politic, a public which all are one of the same. Who are aware of their own existence, capacities and can be an example of such by acts that permeate effects that support a Republic and not that of self serving.

Living by the principals vested in the Declaration of Independence is far different that believing in them. The believing part comes when you are successful at the achievements and the belief is in you for such acts.

A Statesman knows who he is, what he stands for as well is capable of and his acts fully represented by such results. I do not have to believe in anybody not willing to verify by the actions of completing these tasks and fully showing such results.

I believe in those who serve others as you would in a natural form, the same as you would do to yourself.
