TRX: Tenther Radio makes its debut on Natural News Radio this week!

It might be their first night on the network, but it’s also the 1-year anniversary of the program. Michael Boldin and Lesley Swann take you on a tour of Tentherism – the principle of decentralization that the establishment left AND right both despise. From weed to war, health to marriage and everything in between – the answer is local.

During the early part of the show, Michael Boldin discussed what Tenther Radio is all about:

“We discuss the top Tenther news of the week from around the country.  This could be things that cross the political spectrum.  It could be resistance to the NDAA.  It could be health care freedom acts. It could be state marijuana laws.”

He continued later by saying, “So what do we hope to accomplish?  We want to talk about current events, and put them in a perspective of this Tenther view, this Constitutional view,  and the founders’ view – that making decisions on the most difficult and divisive issues should be close to home in our states, communities and towns.”

Later in the show, Communications Director of the Tenth Amendment Center, Michael Maharrey, joined the group to discuss the Tenth Amendment, the TAC, and why is it import to be consistent in principles, no matter what politician is in charge.

When Maharrey was asked about the importance of the Tenth Amendment, he responded, “The Tenth Amendment along with the Ninth, gives the basic foundation of the design of the government.  It makes it specific what was already implicit in the Constitution.  That the federal government was given a specific set of responsibilities and authority, and everything else was left to the states.”

Towards the end of the show, Lesley Swann addressed a comment left by listener, Darold in TN, who asked if the Supreme Court does have the last word on determining the Constitutionality of an issue.  She stated:

“One of the fundamental principles of interpreting a historical document, from Hammurabi’s code, to the Bible, to the Constitution is to first examine the source document.  You first seek to understand what the words of that document meant to the people who wrote it.  Then you can examine some literature written around the same time period to gain context.  You can see what words meant to people back then and how they’ve changed, perhaps even gain some idea of the events surrounding the writing of those documents.”

Boldin closed the show by addressing the medical marijuana issue from a Tenther perspective. He talks about how – on this issue alone – most of the country agree with the Tenther view – that the federal government needs to butt out.
