John Boehner, speaker of the House, has told the world that repealing Obamacare is no longer his mission. In his own words:

Diane Sawyer, ABC News: You had said, next year, that you would repeal the healthcare vote. Is that still your mission?

Speaker John Boehner: I think that the election changes that. It’s pretty clear that the president was reelected, Obamacare is the law of the land.

Diane Sawyer, ABC News: But you won’t be spending the time next year trying to repeal Obamacare?

Speaker John Boehner: There are certainly maybe parts of it that we believe need to be changed, we may do that. No decisions at this point.

At best, relying on federal politicians to repeal a federal law – you get “we may do that.” The fact is this – the only time that these people ever give hard rhetoric about standing up to federal power is on the campaign trail. When it’s over, it’s business as usual.

But people have begun to realize already that you just can’t rely on voting bums out, or court decisions or federal politicians at all. On November 6th, people in Montana, Alabama and Wyoming voted to approve new laws that ban insurance mandates. That brings the total to twelve.

And, already this year, there are commitments from three states – Oklahoma, New Jersey and Maine – to consider the next step. That is, the federal health care nullification act – which addresses not just mandates, but the entire “Affordable Care Act” and makes it illegal in the state.

With that, I’d like to share with you a quick message I wrote to the Speaker:

Dear John,

Let me break it to you, Obamacare is NOT the law of the land. It never was. The Constitution is. So you and your buddies should get the hell out of our way, because we’re going to nullify this thing whether it’s part of your “mission” or not.

Your friend,

Michael
