“The [State] legislature can pass anything it wants,” said Sam Kamin, a constitutional law professor at the University of Denver. “The Supremacy Clause of the Constitution makes that clearly unconstitutional. Where there’s a conflict between state and federal law, the federal government is supreme.”
“Kamin and other legal experts said such disdain of Obama’s proposals is reminiscent of former Confederate states’ refusal to comply with federal law extending equal rights for blacks after the Civil War”
Wrong. Only through those federal laws made in PURSUANCE OF THE CONSTITUTION, is the federal government supreme. Why is Kamin omitting that essential part?
And that comment about resisting federal power – having racist motives – I believe this is an evil person, because he himself is part of an effort to resist federal power. He’s part of the State of Colorado’s Amendment 64 implementation task force. That’s the one where Colorado legalized marijuana. I applaud the people of Colorado for doing this. But, is then Kamin a racist too, by his own expert observations…? Probably.
