Missouri State Representative Lyle Rowland has introduced a bill that would block implementation of UN Agenda 21 policies in the state and protect private property rights.

HB 42 would amend the Missouri Code concerning state and local administration:

“This bill prohibits the State of Missouri and all political subdivisions from adopting or implementing policy recommendations that infringe or restrict private property rights without due process as may be required by policy recommendations originating in or traceable to Agenda 21, adopted by the United Nations, or any other international law or ancillary plan of action that conflicts with the Constitution of the United States or the Missouri Constitution.”

So what is Agenda 21? While billed as a global sustainable development plan, it’s advisable to consider what that means to the UN—and how they plan to achieve it.

For instance, it can be argued that Agenda 21 is an instrument for removing the right to control private property, instead investing that right, or even that property, in the hands of the government. It would essentially subvert our constitutional right to protection of private property—including that of the Fifth Amendment’s Takings or Just Compensation Clause.

It has, at its core, the progressive doctrine of redistribution on a global scale—lowering the American standard of living in order to ostensibly raise that of other nations and fund their development plans. Likewise, it maps out acceptable use of different areas of the U.S., including where people may and may not live, without regard to location of their current property. It achieves this via local initiatives couched in “save the planet” language and a very patient social engineering plan executed via schools, officials, and the media.

In fact, the Republican National Convention 2012 called Agenda 21 “a comprehensive plan of extreme environmentalism, social engineering, and global political control.”

HB 42 received a public hearing on January 31, 2013, and was recommended for passage by the Missouri House Tourism and Natural Resources Committee on February 14, 2013.

ACTION ITEMS

If you live in Missouri, contact your state legislator. Let him or her know of your concern for UN Agenda 21, and request support for HB 42.

If you live outside of Missouri, still contact your state legislator. Inform him or her that you hope similar legislation will be introduced in your state.
