Two very important bills in Montana need your support to move forward.  HB522 to nullify NDAA “indefinite detention” passed the House unanimously but needs help getting through the Senate.    HB302 refuses compliance with potential new federal gun control and is on its way to the governor’s desk.

Please take the following steps to help them move forward, and share this information widely!  (scroll down to learn more about the bills)

Montana HB522, the Liberty Preservation Act, has been working its way through the process.  It’s currently in the Senate Judiciary committee and could get a vote as early as Monday AM.  The best action you can take right away is to call the committee members – AND  your own state senator.  This process moves quickly and your calls to request a YES on HB522 are needed right now.

1. Contact the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.  Strongly, but respectfully request a YES vote on HB522

2. Contact your own state senator.  HB522 could very well get to the Senate floor in the coming days.  Please let your state senator know that you want to see a YES vote on HB522

Montana’s HB302, The 2nd Amendment Preservation Act, is headed to the Governor’s desk after passing both state houses.

ACTION ITEMS

1. Contact the Governor.  Politely but strongly tell him to sign HB302 into law.

ADDITIONAL BILL INFORMATION

Montana House Bill 522.   This bill would require all state and local officials to refuse compliance or assistance in any way with the “indefinite detention” provisions of the NDAA.  It has broad support from very unlikely allies – and similar bills are moving forward in states around the country.

Montana House Bill 302 would require all state and local agencies to refuse participation with or assistance for any restriction on semi-automatic weapons or large capacity magazines.  We know establishment forces are going to keep working to get such a federal law, so this bill would help protect the right to keep in bear arms in advance.   A large number of states following Montana’s lead on this as law could have a powerful effect of discouraging such an attempt in DC – as they have neither the manpower nor the resources to do it without state cooperation.

As Judge Andrew Napolitano has said recently, such widespread noncompliance can make a federal law “nearly impossible to enforce” (video here)

*******

Encourage your local community to take action as well. Present the 2nd Amendment Preservation Act and the Liberty Preservation Act to your city county, your town council, or your county commissioners.  Various local governments around the country are already passing similar resolutions and ordinances.  Local legislative action is a great way to strengthen a statewide campaign against 2nd Amendment violations and federally sanctioned kidnapping
