Tenth Amendment Center national communications director Mike Maharrey appeared on the Clarkcast with Matt Clark on WAAM in Ann Arbor Michigan Sunday, April 25.

Mike and Matt chatted about the the importance of decentralizing power and how we can devolve authority back to the state and local level where it belongs.

“Americans intuitively understand that centralized power is dangerous,” Maharrey said. “We don’t want a monopoly. You know, you don’t want one grocery store selling every grocery in the state of Michigan. You would understand, hey, we’re going to get bad pricing. We’re going to get poor selection and horrible customer service. Well, if we understand that for an economic principle, why is it that so many people want, or think they want, centralized government? They don’t. We want things decentralized, and that’s what the Tenth Amendment does. It brings things to the state and local level where it belongs. “

They also discussed several issues, including NDAA detention, the Second Amendment, health care and drones, and how states are pushing back against unconstitutional federal overreach.

The 10th Amendment
