To the dismay of many Americans, President Obama has delayed implementation of Obamacare another year, or at least the employer mandate. Never mind the fact that the entire law needs to be postponed indefinitely, and truly should be repealed, King Obama has decreed he is granting special favor to businesses nationwide, which will coincidentally help Democrats in mid-term elections next year.

Why is the king granting this special dispensation?

Because he can.

When Obamacare was voted into law, it gave the president unprecedented powers to control its implementation. This special dispensation is a major blow to freedom and liberty.

This comes as no surprise, considering that this is not the only time the president has been given sweeping authority. The National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 handed over tyrannical powers to our king…oops, president. This precedent of relinquishing or ceding power to the president needs to stop!

Where’s the Proof?

Taken directly from the NDAA 2012:

SEC. 1021. AFFIRMATION OF AUTHORITY OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES TO DETAIN COVERED PERSONS PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF MILITARY FORCE.

(a) In General- Congress affirms that the authority of the President to use all necessary and appropriate force pursuant to the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107-40; 50 U.S.C. 1541 note) includes the authority for the Armed Forces of the United States to detain covered persons (as defined in subsection (b)) pending disposition under the law of war.

(b) Covered Persons- A covered person under this section is any person as follows:

(1) A person who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored those responsible for those attacks.

(2) A person who was a part of or substantially supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners, including any person who has committed a belligerent act or has directly supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy forces.

As one can clearly see, this vaguely worded legaleze creates an open, blanket invitation for the president to seize political power and influence by detaining those he wants. And this special dispensation has no end in sight. The NDAA is carte blanche tyrannical authority to indefinitely detain any American citizen. This means that you or I could be easily detained with no redress or appeal at all.

Now for the I!

Every day that goes by with the president’s despotism growing is another day of ignorant and lethargic complacency. THIS CANNOT STAND! Do you realize that this type of despotism was what the Revolutionary War was all about?

Please don’t misunderstand. I am not calling for war. Far from it. Fortunately the founders put in place a stalwart against such tyranny through the proviso of the Tenth Amendment. The Supreme Court IS NOT the final authority. The states are! And that is how we remove power of the tyrant. By nullifying locally and at the state level IT IS POSSIBLE for you and I to take the authority out of the authoritarian’s hand.

Now is the time to stand up and declare that you and I “WILL NOT GO SILENTLY INTO THE NIGHT”. Talk to your city council and introduce the legislation locally. Then move up to county. Then move up to the state. It’s that easy. What are you waiting for?

Get up!

Let your voice be heard!

Do not allow the yoke of tyranny to pass onto the next generation!

Stand up for your children!

Act locally!
