A bill has been introduced in Idaho that would repeal previously established state-run health care exchanges, a key part of the implementation of the unpopular Obamacare law.

HB418 was introduced on Jan. 24 by Rep. Lenore Hardy Barrett (R-35). The bill would repeal Chapter 61, Title 41 of the Idaho State Code which contains nine separate provisions all pertaining to the establishment of health care exchanges. It now sits before the House Ways & Means Committee where it will need to be passed by a majority vote before it is considered by the whole House.

The passage of HB248 last year in spite of heavy opposition from lawmakers set up the state-run exchanges, forcing Idaho to take on some of the federal government’s workload during the Obamacare implementation process. However, the millions of insurance cancellations and a string of very embarrassing website snafus have re-ignited the issue for this year’s legislative session. Idahoans, already feeling the sting from Obamacare’s early turmoil, can get behind HB418 to better protect their health care from federal corruption and ineptitude.

Stopping the state-run exchanges would be a good start in fighting back against Obamacare in Idaho. If enough states deny compliance and material support to the federal government pertaining to Obamacare, it could easily come crashing down before the full brunt is born by the American people. Through compliance, we enable these types of frauds to persist. That is why it is so crucial for Rep. Barrett’s bill HB418 to be passed.

Tenth Amendment Center national communications director Michael Maharrey elaborated on that point saying, “The federal government has no constitutional authority to create or run a national health care system. On top of that, why would you want them to? Why would you want a monopoly on healthcare, any more than you would want a monopoly on grocery sales? Especially a monopoly run by an entity as incompetent as the federal government.

“We know the feds counted on the states to do the heavy lifting. We know the number of states refusing to create exchanges created problems. If enough states simply say, ‘No,’ this monstrosity will collapse under its own weight.”

Idaho citizens would have their health freedom more fully protected if they were to utilize our 4 Step Plan to Defeat Obamacare. HB418 is only encompasses a portion of Step 1. Our plan is a more holistic defense against federal health care intrusion. The four steps are as follows:

Step 1: Ban State Enforcement, Participation and Material Support

Step 2: Reject Medicaid Expansion

Step 3: Protect Residents from Mandates

Step 4: Challenge the IRS’s illegal ObamaCare taxes

FOX News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano said, “if enough states do this…it will gut Obamacare.” The Congress and the Supreme Court refuse to do their job so now it is time for us to take care of business at the state level. Alerting your state legislators about our 4 Step Plan to Defeat Obamacare is how we can save ourselves from the horrors of federal medicine
