Michael Boldin, founder and Executive Director of the Tenth Amendment Center, recently appeared on an episode of the Tom Woods Show, a daily liberty-based podcast hosted by the New York Times Best-selling author and historian.
The show focused on current legislative sessions that are producing bills based on model legislation written and developed by the Tenth Amendment Center. The NSA “Turn It Off” campaign is highlighted, as well as bills that would target and deconstruct attempts by the government to disseminate personal data.
Boldin illustrated how the Tenth Amendment Center is rejecting party politics and building liberty-based legislation with assistance from individuals working together to reject federal overreach, even between those that would have been considered previously as strange political bedfellows.
“Unfortunately some people just want to keep people divided in one side vs. the other – divide and conquer. Everyone has an issue that to them they don’t like how the federal government is doing it…we’re going to continue building what we call single-issue coalitions to get things done.”
Boldin spoke of attacks that have been made against such legislation by ThinkProgress.org, an organization that is trying to dissuade potential support from Progressives on some issues where there is common ground.
“That’s exactly what our friends said at ThinkProgress.org: “Don’t use this Progressives – because it might work.” To me, that is the number one reason why it is full green light and we should ramp up the pressure at every turn possible to do this. Because it might work!”
Despite attacks, Boldin made it plainly known that the Tenth Amendment Center is pushing forward and making effectual strides to reject unconstitutional government overreach. Today, The Tenth Amendment Center works to unite individuals, ignite forces of resentment toward the federal government, and return to principles consistent with the Constitution and human liberty.
