HB1065, a bill that would nullify certain FDA rules regarding access of experimental drugs for terminally ill patients, was authored in Indiana on Jan. 6 by State Rep. Wes Culver (R-Goshon). Take the following action steps to ensure the success of this important bill.

STATUS: HB1065 was referred to the House Public Health Committee pending further action. The bill must pass through this committee successfully before it can receive a vote from the whole house.

PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS – It doesn’t matter where you live in the state, please follow all these steps to support HB1065.

1. Call the House Labor, Commerce and Industry Committee Chair, Richard Clere. Strongly, but respectfully urge him to move these important bills forward to a vote in his committee. A phone call has 10x the impact of an email.

The phone number for every Indiana state rep is 800-382-9841. You will have to request Chairman Clere by name.

2. Call the rest of the committee members. Again, be strong, but respectful. Urge each of them to take action to move the bill forward and vote YES on HB1065.

The phone number for every Indiana state rep is 800-382-9841. You will have to ask for the specific legislator by name.
