Tennessee SB39 and HB1191 would ban the owning or use of specified military equipment in the state, effectively blocking the Pentagon 1033 program that has been militarizing local police. SB39 is in the Senate Judiciary Committee, and HB1191 is in the House State Government Subcommittee where they’ll need to pass before the bills can receive full votes in their respective chambers.

PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS – It doesn’t matter where you live in the state, please follow all these steps to support SB39 and HB1191.

FOR SB39

1. Call the Senate Judiciary Committee Chair, Brian Kelsey. Strongly, but respectfully urge him to move this important bill forward to a vote in his committee. A phone call has 10x the impact of an email.
NOTE: He is the bill sponsor, thank him for introducing this bill.
