I often see Republicans and conservatives rightly bash Pres. Obama for many (but definitely not all) of his Constitutional violations. Obama is absolutely horrible on the Constitution.

But many of these republicans and conservatives have given him the foundation for what he’s done.

Huh?

Well, anyone who thinks that things were “just fine” or even “pretty good” before Obama got in office doesn’t have a clue about the Constitution. They’ve likely supported many, many federal programs the Founders would never have authorized.

Obama didn’t create the EPA, or the DHS, or the Patriot Act, or federal health care programs. He simply used what was handed to him, and in many cases, expanded on it.

Obama wasn’t the first president to enforce gun control measures, they’ve existed in a big way for over 70 years.

Obama wasn’t the first to wage undeclared foreign wars, he wasn’t the first one to bail out his corporate buddies, and he certainly wasn’t the first one to spy on you.

If you think that Obama created the mess we have today instead of just expanded on what this country has already long-tolerated, you’re part of the problem.

Every one of us who turned a blind eye to one constitutional violation or another – for any reason – we’re the real problem. We’re the problem if we’ve been too busy to understand what they are. We’re the problem if we think we know what they are, but really don’t.

Being OK with a new federal agency or federal program because it’s not bothering you right now, or it’s doing something you want – only guarantees that some future politician will use that same power for something you don’t. And when it comes to the Constitution, very little of what the feds do is authorized anyway.

Constitutional ignorance, hatred, and hypocrisy is what created the climate for Pres. Obama and all his constitutional violations.

They also ensure that whomever is the next president will continue to shred the Constitution the Founders gave us.
