In this episode of Thoughts from Maharrey Head, I talk about how states are effectively nullifying federal prohibition of industrial hemp by simply ignoring federal law, and legalizing cultivation and processing of the plant anyway.

Federal prohibition of the cultivation of industrial hemp is as ridiculous as it is unconstitutional. While the federal government bans this plant, the United States ranks as the world’s number one importer of hemp in the world.

But state action is beginning to undermine federal prohibition. Instead of waiting for permission from the feds, several states have simply ignored them, and legalized hemp cultivation and processing anyway. In these states, hemp markets have taken root and are beginning to grow.

In this episode of Thoughts from Maharrey Head, I talk about hemp, federal prohibition and how continued state action can nullify the federal ban in effect.
