Virtually every political issue today eventually gets framed in terms of race or some other group identity. How useful is this? Can we really legitimately lump individuals into large homogeneous groups? Why does the political class do this?

In this episode of Thoughts from Maharrey Head, I talk about identity politics, why it’s misplaced, and how it tends to divide and pit people against one another to the advantage of the political class. I also talk about the root of identity politics – a misplaced conception of equality.
