In this episode of Thoughts from Maharrey Head, I talk about the American colonists’ protest against the Stamp Act and how their actions effectively nullified it.

We’ve seen a lot of protests across America over the last few years, most recently waves of unrest in the wake of Donald Trump’s presidential election victory. Protestors garnered plenty of news coverage, managed to temporarily impede some traffic, and in a few cases, tore things up. But otherwise, they haven’t had any real, substantive impact.

Modern protestors should take some lessons from American colonists. Their protests of the Stamp Act effectively stopped the British government from implementing its tax scheme in the colonies.

In this episode of Thoughts from Maharrey Head, I talk about exactly what the colonists did and why it was so effective.
