Pennsylvania Bill Would Prohibit Warrantless Stingray Spying

HARRISBURG, Pa. (July 24, 2017) –  A bill introduced in the Pennsylvania House would ban the use of “stingrays” to track the location of phones and sweep up electronic communications without a warrant in most situations. The proposed law would not only protect privacy in Pennsylvania, but would also hinder one aspect of the federal surveillance state.

Signed by the Governor: New Hampshire Law Allows Local Common Core Opt Out

CONCORD, N.H. (July 21, 2017) – On Tuesday, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu signed a bill into law that prohibits the state department of education and the state board of education from requiring any school or school district to implement Common Core standards. This represents an opportunity for local communities to opt out of Common Core and nullify the program in practice.
