NSA relies on our complicity, our resources, our manpower, our universities and private corporations. Resist, this is How To Stop NSA Spying.Details
It is very easy to get sick and tired of American foreign policy these days.
Since 9/11, America has been drawn into a countless number of foreign wars with nothing to show for it other than disastrous results. Troop suicides stand at an all-time high, the economy is in the tank, the Middle East is completely on fire with Islamic radicalism running wild, and our precious freedoms are being eroded because of it. This is a truly dire situation that shows no signs of slowing down.
In lieu of what is going on, the question we must ask ourselves is: how do we stop this? We’ve seen large scale demonstrations and mass protests to end some of these wars, and it has not done anything to change the path America is going down. The federal government is so corrupt that they refuse to listen to the will of the people. These unfortunate circumstances make it clear that we need to move at the state level, as Thomas Jefferson suggested, through nullification.Details
So much for the idea of the federal government reforming itself.
During the so-called government shutdown, Politico reported that the NSA’s surveillance panel, supposedly established to remedy the agency’s illegal behavior, went on hiatus.
Director of National Intelligence James Clapper was slated to head up the panel. You might remember he infamously lied under oath about spying allegations. Now that the government is back open for business, it still remains uncertain when, or if, the panel will resume operations.
And even if it does convene, does anybody actually think Clapper and company will do anything to protect the people?Details
In the midst of the never-ending NSA spying revelations, it is easy to lose track of all of the unconstitutional acts committed by the so-called intelligence community – and the ways that NSA spying, and mentality behind it, permeates law enforcement at all levels.
One troubling aspect recently revealed is the fact that the feds give warrantless, illegally-collected information to local law-enforcement agencies for their investigations. This is done through something called “Special Operations Division,” and through Fusion Centers.
The Fusion Centers act as a conduit for Big Brother – they’re a place to simply receive data collected, with or without a warrant, by federal agencies like the NSA. That information is passed on to local law enforcement and often used in day-to-day criminal investigations.
Fusion Centers were set-up under the Bush Administration to “help keep America safe” after 9/11. The Patriot Act removed barriers that prevented the feds from sharing intelligence information with local law enforcement. This was meant to facilitate communication between agencies so decisions could be made quickly in order to “prevent another terrorist attack.” At least that’s how it was sold. Unfortunately, this practice has been abused and focused on the whole American population – not just terror suspects.
Given the penchant the feds have for using their power to harass political opponents, these spying programs have a pernicious chilling effect on the First Amendment of the Constitution..Details
We are a grassroots organization working to turn off the NSA’s illegal spying program once and for all.
Because of the vast nature of the Orwellian snooping machine, it takes a tremendous amount of resources to maintain it. Aside from destroying our environment by depleting our precious natural resources, this also leaves Big Brother vulnerable to decentralized political resistance.
The feds cannot force state and local governments to do their bidding. This notion is so uncontroversial that the Supreme Court has even agreed multiple times. This gives us an opportunity to hit Big Brother through legislation at the state and local levels. By stopping local and state governments from aiding and abetting the NSA’s unconstitutional behavior, we can make it impossible – or at the very least far more difficult – for them to spy on us.
In the case of the Utah data center, it is bigger than several Pentagons. Thus, it takes an astounding 1.7 million gallons of water per day to maintain the facility. Most of that water comes from a political subdivision of the state of Utah. That means we can cut the NSA off. Many other NSA centers have similar agreements with local and state governments. They can be cut off as well.
And that’s not all we are up to.Details
If you have been watching CNN, you would think the sky was falling. Our ‘public servants’ have been whining and crying endlessly about how their precious bureaucracy has been shutdown. To these arrogant elitists, this means that the sun won’t shine and the grass won’t grow. However, the state of the country hasn’t changed very much in spite of the alleged shutdown.
In reality, the feds are still drone-bombing children, creating a 1984-style surveillance state, molesting people at airports and racking up astronomical amounts of debt to fund all of this deviousness. And of course, Obamacare is still being implemented in the state of Michigan thanks to the disgraced backstabber Rick Snyder.
The feds are hoping since a small amount of federal workers are temporarily laid off that the American public will panic and forget about the mountain of government incompetence and corruption that is evident at every level. As distracted as many Americans are unfortunately are, they are too fed up with the status quo to forget about how the numerous ways they have been tread upon by government. They see the prices of their food and gas going up, they see the dismal job market, they see the bizarre unhinged behavior of their government officials. All the propaganda in the world cannot keep the American people in the dark any longer.
The good news out of this turmoil is the polarized nature of government. The political system has been polarized for quite some time, but it has to be at a record level right now. This is good news because when these guys are at each others throats, less things get done. When less things get done, it is far less likely for the government to destroy the economy and our basic rights. It is really that simple.Details
In a revelation that should be a surprise to nobody, The New York Times recently reported that the NSA conducted a secret program that collected the cell phone data of Americans in order to track their location.
This program ran from 2010 to 2011 and used data from cell towers to track the location of users’ cell phones, according to Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. Essentially, the NSA was using phone data to virtually follow people.
An official familiar with the test project said its purpose was to see how the locational data would flow into the N.S.A.’s systems. While real data was used, it was never drawn upon in any investigation, the official said. It was unclear how many Americans’ locational data was collected as part of the project, whether the agency has held on to that information or why the program did not go forward, according to the Times.
The program is now allegedly discontinued, but Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) does not feel that we know the whole truth about it.Details
The battle to keep educational freedom in Michigan is heating up this week as a key vote on whether or not to adopt the Common Core curriculum is expected to take place.
If you are unaware of what Common Core is doing to to the educational system (as many Americans unfortunately are), here is a brief primer on what it is all about:
- Data is collected on students like never before. Common Core changes the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 so children’s Social Security numbers, blood type, records of school attendance, supposed learning disabilities, religious affiliation, disciplinary records, parents’ income information and other personal information will be permanently stored and made available to many public agencies.
- Classic literature is eschewed by Common Core while government technical manuals are encouraged as learning texts. Some examples of recommended reading materials for children are “Recommended Levels of Insulation” by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and “U.S. Department of Energy and Executive Order 13423: Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management.”
- Common Core is being pushed by the usual array of crony capitalists and corrupt government officials. The infamous ObamaCare cheerleader Rick Snyder supports it. Monsanto’s top backer Bill Gates had his foundation give $150 million in grants to help a wide variety of organizations implement Common Core standards. Former Fla. Gov. Jeb Bush and NJ Gov. Chris Christie are also standing with Obama against local control of education.Details
We at the Tenth Amendment Center are well aware that it has taken a long time for us to lose our liberty, and reclaiming it will be no easy task. Recently, we have suffered some set-backs at the state level. Unfortunately, many of our so-called public servants do not take their oath to the Constitution seriously and show nothing but contempt for the people who they are supposed to be representing.
The first disappointment came at the local level. We have covered the heroic patriots in Oscoda County extensively in their fight to preserve the 2nd Amendment on here and our national blog. They went from township to township attempting to get the 2nd Amendment Preservation Act passed with several successes. They tried to build upon those successes and replicate it at the county level. Unfortunately, they were not very well received by the County Commissioners.
After a contentious hearing on Aug. 13, the resolution was rejected. One Commissioner, Larry Wilson made the motion to adopt and support the resolution, but there was no second and the rest of the commissioners were against it. The rationale they used to reject it was redundancy. They alleged that since they already took their oath, they didn’t feel it was necessary to send a strong message to the federal gun grabbers. The majority felt it wasn’t in the jurisdiction of the county commission to stand up for the Bill of Rights. These are rather pathetic and craven excuses considering our freedoms are in such jeopardy. It is worth noting that everyone on this board was a Republican. I will address the problem with these wolves in sheep’s clothing later on.Details
Last May, Herndon, Kansas, Mayor Kenny Chartier introduced an ordinance nullifying federal gun laws in his town. The legally binding ordinance prohibits “any agency or person in the employ of the City of Herndon from enforcing, providing material support for, or participating in any way in the enforcement of any act, law, treaty, order, rule or regulation of federal government regarding personal firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition with the city limits.”
The city council unanimously adopted it.
Chartier took action after Kansas Gov. Brownback signed a state Second Amendment Protection Act into law last April. The state law nullifies a wide range of unconstitutional federal gun laws. Passage represented a huge step in protecting the right to keep and bear arms in Kansas, but Chartier understood local support would play a vital role in the ultimate success of the new Kansas law, and he did his part to add another layer of protection for citizens in his town.
And the Herndon mayor didn’t stop there.
Recently, Chatier sent an email to “every town, city and municipality in the state of Kansas that had an e-mail address,”urging them to pass similar Second Amendment Preservation ordinances supporting the state law.Details
