Last week, I appeared on the Right Perspective Radio program. The scheduled 30-minute interview turned into an hour-long, wide-ranging discussion on constitutional originalism, the Tenth Amendment, and nullification.
During the course of the interview, I covered the limited nature of the federal government created by the original constitution, the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions, James Madison’s blueprint for nullification and the anti-commandeering doctrine. Some of the most interesting moments happened when I talked about weed and guns (on a very conservative show), and when we got into a discussion about sanctuary cities. We close out the show with a very interesting exchange about the constitutionality of federal highway funding.
