Occam’s Razor tells us the simplest answer is usually the best. The explanation that requires the fewest assumptions is usually correct.

But in politics, there is a completely different standard. The most complex, assumption-filled, convoluted explanation (generally coming from lawyers) is usually accepted as the best explanation. This is especially true when it comes to reading the Constitution.
