Freedom and free will is not 'progressive' as someone can choose to go forward and be a evolved human being or a total claud. Simply put, its a neither in human evolution but is a major step forward in human societies. Once done the sum choices of each individual could move it forward or backward which is why freedom is not 'progressive' in that sense but is progressive in another sense and that is it makes societies a better place to live.

At 18:25, Ron Paul says he sees freedom as a progressive movement. This is what I've been saying. "Progressive" has been made a bad word by neo-cons, and it remains misused. Our founders were progressive, too.
