Action Alert: Kill REAL ID in PA!

I received this message in e-mail from a friend of the Tenth Amendment.

What: Three bills were introduced into the Pennsylvania Senate as a privacy protection package by Senator Mike Folmer(R), District 48, over one and a half years ago. One of those bills, SB 621, The REAL ID Nonparticipation Act, to prohibit implementation of Real ID in Pennsylvania was unanimously passed on June 15 by the full Senate and sent to the PA House Transportation Committee. That committee amended the bill, then passed it unanimously on Sept 13 and referred it to the House Appropriations Committee where it sits. Time is very short. The last House session day for the 2009-2010 Assembly session is only six weeks from today, and there are only 7 more meetings scheduled for Appropriations.

Colorado Uniform Enumerated Powers Act

I hear a lot of people in the tea Party movement talk about how the Federal Government has ignored the Constitution, and we need to get back to that Constitution as the Supreme Governing Document of our nation.  We at the Tenth Amendment Center have developed some model legislation, here is one example.

To require the federal government to specify the source of authority under the United States Constitution for the enactment of laws, and for other purposes.

SECTION 1. LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS

The legislature of the State of Colorado finds that,

1. The People of the Several States by virtue of their mutual compact created the federal government, as documented in the United States Constitution;

2. The People of the Several States set forth in the Constitution those powers which the several States delegated to the federal government;

3. The legislative powers which the the People of the Several States delegated to the federal government are set forth in the Constitution of the United States;

4. By virtue of the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution set forth in the Bill of Rights, the People of the Several States reserved to themselves, and to the People, all powers which were neither specifically delegated to the federal government in the Constitution nor expressly prohibited to the States therein;

The Time is Upon Us

[Editors Note: The following is the Kern River Valley Tea Party Address, October 2, 2010, Keynote Speaker Dr. Harold W. Pease.]

The 2nd American Revolution is upon us. This is one of hundreds of like-minded tea party gatherings this month held throughout the country urging all patriots to the front. You have answered this call. Those who sit this one out will condemn themselves to like leadership and enslaving taxation for years to come. You are doing this for your children and those not yet born. You must not fail them now. This is as serious as it was in 1776. The big difference is that we can do it in the ballot box. Please bring your friends and encourage everyone to vote for returning to the Constitution, which, if followed, limits government, ensures fiscal responsibility, and stimulates the free market.

In 2009 we gained the confidence of the people with over 2600 similar Tea Party gatherings–probably more demonstrations against excessive government in our lives than collectively in U. S. History. The establishment media sought to destroy us by first calling us “astro-turf,” then “mobs,” then finally “racist”—all intentional lies. It did not work. Instead, the public saw their dads and moms of all back grounds and color, rich and poor alike, demonstrating in the streets uttering words similar to those uttered by the Founders 234 years ago. The media, looking for conflict to discredit the movement, never found it. We beat the media. The public has confidence in us because we are they and they are we and the lies of the media lay exposed as did their roll as accomplices in the deterioration of our liberty. Only Fox news supported us.
