via Utah State Rep, Ken Ivory:
We are pleased to announce that HB148 Transfer of Public Lands Act by Rep. Ken Ivory and the supporting HJR3 Joint Resolution on Federal Transfer of Public Lands passed through the Natural Resources Committee hearing last week and should be heard on the House floor sometime tomorrow, Tuesday, February 28, 2012.
You can review the bill, the resolution, Utah Attorney General’s historical background of HB148, a summary of the bill, a brief history by Pres. Andrew Jackson of the federal government’s trust duty to dispose of the public lands, and a spreadsheet outlining our tremendous education funding gap as a result of the federal government’s failure to timely honor its promise to transfer title to our public lands at these links.
More than 40 members of the Utah House of Representatives have already signed on as co-sponsors of the HB 148 and HJR 3 initiative This initiative also enjoys the early support of these organizations: Utah Association of Counties, Utah State School Board, Utah School Boards Association, Utah School Superintendents Association, Utah PTA, Sportsmen for Fish & Wildlife, Utah Shared Access Alliance (USA-ALL), and the Sutherland Institute. Look for more supporting organizations as this continues to roll out.

I suppose after Utah has received all of that state funding from taxing their citizens, pulling people over, etc, that they’ll have to start a new campaign to remove natural selection from text-books (because it makes their kids stupid) and then STILL have low test-scores in education…
I am not so sure this is the best argument, our children’s education count on this? I totally agree Federal Government should not have all this land but if you define what they have done in the way of debt and what they have done not unloading all this property has done as the display of what Government education has done then we are screwed.
States standing up for states is the act missing because so many were willing to jump on the band wagon for Federal Funding for schools and their curriculum, this has been devastating to each and every state, both in debt and in very bad education. Even states subject themselves as the masters or devoted to education but this has proven false over and over again because those of state Government went to these education practices and look at the choices they make.
The truth is we lack the very true education of the foundation of this country and the Republics in each community able to do its own part in self sustaining practices, self sustaining education practices. These are not on the state or federal level, these are left to the community Republic level where those in their communities discuss the whys and why nots of such a community.
All choices are based on Life and what sustains life in these communities as Republics. Sustainment is the ability to survive on its own without outside assistance and that is true sustainability. The discussion of the successes and the failures of our communities are what we use for comparison between communities in the form of Representatives well informed on the decisions of the Communities for which each represents. Federal and State Government do not decide for communities, communities decide for States and Federal Government period and when this is not the case do we see the results of today.
This country is to be A Republic way of Life where Life in Communities as a public and politic converse with each other in their communities to make great choices for life within each community. This can only be done on a very basic local level. To think otherwise is the lack of the education you received through this education program for which you say you support. Examples are everywhere and this is why I challenge you to look at the choices you say you support.
