Beck: “Make sure your state is passing laws that say we will not comply”
The language in the NDAA act of 2012 was co-authored by Carl Levin (Michigan) and John McCain (Arizona). Both Levin and McCain re-worded the NDAA provision ALLOWING the indefinite detention of American at the request of the White House. Most notably, Chris Hedges, Noam Chomsky, and Daniel Ellsberg (all technically liberals by today's definition) filed suit against Obama and the provision was struck down by Judge Katherine Forrest, an Obama Appointee. The measure still stands now despite Forrests' ruling on appeal by the DOJ.
Glen Beck lying...he said it was signed by executive order. That is a flat out lie, it was drawn up by none other than John McCain (you know...Obama's Republican opponent in 2008). The scam is that BOTH parties are responsible. Glen Beck often ignores or over looks what the GOP is doing.
@MarkBHopp This is where the confusion comes in, Obama’s signature brings an official END to a legislative process that began last March, when Representative Buck McKeon and Senator John McCain introduced bills. @MarkBHopp I don't know if he's lying. Maybe. He's got a number of errors in what he said though. He certainly presented it as an Obama-only thing to keep it partisan, but we'll prove to the world that it's otherwise, right?
