“Vote the bums out” may be a popular statement to say during a November election, but it’s not practical. Not now, and not 40 years ago when Milton Friedman addressed the same attitude.
WATCH IT:
He understood the real issue at hand. Politicians vote for what will keep them in office. If voting for freedom will keep them elected, then they will vote for freedom. If they are rewarded for unconstitutional legislation, however, they will do that, too.
That’s the way it was in 1977 and the way it is now. The problem isn’t the politicians but the public that doesn’t hold them accountable for their actions. Until Main Street, USA changes, neither will D.C.
