The Battle To Restore Sovereignty To Colorado

Protect Colorado's Sovereignty

The Bill of Rights of The Constitution protects your right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by telling the government what they can’t do. There is one amendment that specifically limits the powers of the federal government over your life.

This amendment keeps the federal government confined to the Constitution of the United States.

10th Amendment

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Currently, our federal government has overstepped it’s authority in every state, including Colorado. Colorado is a sovereign state and her citizens have a right to a government that respects the supreme rule of law i.e. The Constitution.

It’s time for people to demand that any law, mandate, regulation, or code enforced by the federal government but not sanctioned by the Constitution be nullified. Anything less is tyranny.

How you can help

  • You can begin by contacting each member of the Colorado General Assembly and demand a sovereignty resolution be passed. There is currently a bill that has been postponed in committee that would do exactly this SJM09-011.
  • Second, demand that anyone you vote for uphold the Constitution and protect liberty above all else. Please request that all state representatives and candidates sign this pledge. If they are a congressman or running for a congressional position ask that they sign this pledge.
  • Third, demand that Congress read the bills they vote for and make sure those bills do not violate the Constitution.
  • Lastly, demand honest money in Colorado and reject the unconstitutional fiat currency of the Federal Reserve.

Sovereignty Resolutions: A Message to the UNITED STATES

Time after time I see this:

“Sovereignty resolutions are a pointless waste of time.  The Federal Government has yet to acknowledge one and they aren’t even legally binding.”

Such a statement can only come from a very narrow view of our current reality.

Sovereignty, above all else legal and otherwise, is a state of mind.  Sovereignty is a way of going about things, from the guy sweeping the parking lot to the lawmakers in the statehouse that says to DC “You don’t control us and you don’t make decisions for us!”.  No legal precedent is required, only a shift in viewpoint and that’s exactly what the numerous sovereignty resolutions have already brought to the people of several states.

Required for any substantial resistance to the runaway train that is the Federal Government is the will of the people to restore the limits so carefully designed by our founding fathers.  Tennessee and Montana are two states who are leading the sovereignty movement and though the Federal Government hasn’t responded to their assertions of sovereignty, one effect is certain and that is the effect on other states.

In January a symposium will be held in Omaha, a gathering of state lawmakers from across our republic assembling to discuss just one thing: state sovereignty.  Many will be speaking at the event, but the symposium’s organizers were surprised by a whole host of legislators who wanted to attend, not to make a speech but rather to listen and get ideas.

You see, no response from DC is required for the sovereignty movement to gain ground.  No acknowledgement from the Federal Government is essential for states to band together in resistance to tyranny.

In the spirit of the 10th Amendment, people from across the 50 states are already massing, without encouragement from Federal courts or agencies.  The message of the 10th may not have been heeded by Washington DC, but the people and the states have heard it loud and clear.

What YOU Can Do

Everything has been turned upside down in the past 12 months- Dems and Reps have swapped dugouts along with the establishment media, from overlord to underdog and vice versa.

So much is different that it can be tough for a champion of state sovereignty to know what steps to take, so I have assembled a list as we at Tenth Amendment Center see it.

We provide the best examples we can find of past, present and future thought on the balance of state and Federal power.  The best first step for all who want to counter the tactics of misinformation is right on our website.  Read up on past articles and jump in with your own personal view on the battle.  The more educated our ranks, the better our chances of winning this fight.

CONTACT lawmakers in your state

The Tenth Amendment Center’s 10-4 Pledge is a great way for patriots to weed out those lawmakers who talk a good talk but won’t really take a stand for liberty.  By presenting the 10-4 Pledge to your state legislature the cream will rise to the top and leaders worth rallying around will stand up and become visible to all.

DRAFT sovereignty legislation

Many groups around the United States have already begun to craft sovereignty legislation for their state.  With the help of our scholars and legal experts, Tenth Amendment Center has a new offering, with example resolutions that serve as an excellent starting point for your state’s sovereignty resolution.

CAMPAIGN to introduce sovereignty bills

As 10-4 Pledges emerge in your state, the entry point for sovereignty legislation is clear and available.  10-4 lawmakers are champions who have already chosen the side of liberty and can be considered the entry point to get your sovereignty resolutions introduced in your state house.

Once 50 states have said NO and chosen to resist DC, we will be close to the goal of liberty in our lifetime.  Now is the time to take action!
