“preserve, protect and defend the Constitution…”

They all take an oath. And they all ignore it – all the time.

St. George Tucker gave us the standard: “They must violate that oath, whenever they give their sanction, by obedience, or otherwise, to any unconstitutional act of any department of the government.

The measure is the Constitution itself – and Tucker laid out the rule. For an act of Congress to be binding, it “must be made pursuant to the Constitution.

Otherwise they are not laws, but a mere nullity; or what is worse, acts of usurpation.”

In other words, they’re stealing power from the people.

When that is the case – which is constant under the largest government in history – Tucker made it clear – following the oath isn’t optional, it’s duty.

The people are not only not bound by them, but the several departments and officers of the governments, both federal, and state, are bound by oath to oppose them.

That means they break their oath simply by turning a blind eye to federal overreach. And it’s true even if they had nothing to do with passing it in the first place.

Most organizations don’t care whether government agents keep their oaths or not, as long as their preferred politicians support their preferred cause.

Here at the Tenth Amendment Center, strictly following the oath – following the constitution – is the only cause.

But we can’t do this work without your support. The organizations encouraging oath-breaking to advance their agendas have big corporate donor lists and multimillion-dollar endowments. Not here. Our work is fueled by good people like you – and we need your help today.

Gouverneur Morris – the man who wrote the Constitution’s preamble – warned us not to give our support to oath-breakers.

“If their duty, their honor, and their oaths, will not bind them, let us not put into their hands our liberty, and all our other great interests.”

These politicians and bureaucrats aren’t our friends. They aren’t our allies. They are oath-breakers who need to be rejected and nullified at every turn possible.

With your help, that’s exactly what we’re going to keep doing!
