Fear is the foundation of most governments.

John Adams understood that government power is built on fear.

Sadly, many people will give up their liberty when they’re scared. Sometimes, they even beg for more government power to “protect them.”

Governments know this. And as James Madison pointed out, they’ll exploit crises – or even make them up – just to keep expanding their power.

Perhaps it is a universal truth that the loss of liberty at home is to be charged to the provisions against danger, real or pretended, from abroad.

But that’s not the end of the story. Even when people know that government is in the wrong, fear can also keep them from resisting government overreach.

“The strength and powers of despotism consist wholly in the fear of resisting it.”

People say things like, “If we resist, the feds will just shut us down,” or, “If states refuse to cooperate, the feds will just cut our funding,” or they’ll simply shrug and proclaim that the federal government is just too powerful to stop.

This is just fear talking. It leads to inaction.

And inaction GUARANTEES  tyranny.

Here at the TAC, we will not give in to fear. And we will take action – every single day! We resist government power at each turn, even when they claim they’re protecting us. Because they almost always aren’t.

Overcoming fear when you’re facing the biggest government in history is no easy task, and we need your support.

Fear is intimidating and paralyzing. Government people know this. That’s why they are constantly fanning the flames of fear. But the reality is, most of the scary things government tells us about are overblown or flat-out made up.

How do we fight this?

Courage. Truth. Perseverance.

This is the antidote to all of it.

And even when the odds are stacked against us – as Samuel Adams reminded us – we can never let up. It’s our moral duty to generations yet to come.

“Let us remember, that “if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom.” It is a very serious consideration, which should deeply impress our minds, that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers in the event.”
