Neocons vs. The Constitution

Bookmark and Share

As much as it seems like progressives hate the Constitution, we must not forget that it is the neocons – warmongering statists pretending to be conservatives – who continue to be the biggest threat to the U.S. Constitution. After all, if it weren’t for the neocons, Obama most likely wouldn’t be able to get away with his insane tripling of U.S. forces in Afghanistan since taking office. Not only are police state groupies & war-profiteering, national security hawks of the Right the very ones who have tortured the Constitution over the last few years, they are also the same ones supporting Obama in continuing the same atrocities. Anyone serious about supporting the Constitution and State Sovereignty should band together in outing the neocons as the anti-constitutional monsters they are.

    • Was I too harsh? Honestly though, when you think of all the innocent people killed by the blood-thirsty neocons, "monster" is going too easy on them.

      • Oh, I was just having some fun. The topic you raise is a very difficult one in my mind. A big part of me wants to subscribe to the Paul theory that we will be more prosperous and peaceful if we demilitarize around the world. Another part of me realizes that we rich, resource-hungry Americans are invariably going to have to plunder the world as we do, lest we lose our control to maintain an open supply to these resources.

Now, it is easy to point to other less-hawkish nations who don't militarize the globe and still manage fine, but these other nations are reliant on us. They are basically taking a free ride.

It is not a good position to be in, and it would be good to have another, less-nasty way to stay out of world affairs but keep the oil flowing.
