Do you think our Federal representatives (or their staffers) care one iota about representing us?
How many times have you said to yourself, “it’s like they don’t care!”
Well, that’s because THEY DON’T CARE!
They know what we are going to do when they push us a little too hard (see the six bullets above). Can you say, “predictable?” They know that they can maneuver around enough and then over time the proverbial giant will go back to sleep. This is where we have failed more times than not.
More specifically, our federal elected officials continue to cater to our emotions and buy our vote with promises of dollars for INSERT PORK PROJECT OR ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM HERE. They then tell us it’s going to be ok with them at the helm, you can trust them to take care of the big-boy business in Washington, DC. On top of that, they know we’ll keep bickering over wedge issues which lead to the “our guy is not that bad” or “at least he’s not as bad as the other guy” approaches that simply perpetuate the status quo for fear that we’ll be doomed for eternity!
Let me ask you one last question: We know they’re not adhering to the Constitution, but are they really even representing us?
About 99% (ok, maybe 100%) of the individuals in the current US Congress are either in favor of BIG government or they lack the testicular fortitude to stand up to their party’s aversion to reducing the Federal Government. Hello McFly…This is an enormous problem for We The People!
We all would agree that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. It is time to stop being predictable. It’s time that We The People change our tactics.
This coming Saturday (12-1pm Eastern), Mark Kreslins and I will roll out the first of two major steps for We The People to take back control of an out of control Federal Government. Join us on AM930 WFMD in the Washington, DC area or listen live online at www.WFMD.com. Studio number is (301) 694-9363.
Joshua is the co-host of The Forgotten Men radio show Saturdays at 12 noon, Eastern, on AM930 WFMD – and the co-founder of We Surround Them Frederick.

I agree completely. I think the only fix must start with 2/3 states calling for constitutional convention to amend constitution to limit congressional terms to 2 per official. Also, it must allow fair salary, but remove all perks, including all lifetime or "retirement" benefits, so the offices cannot attract career politicians. Also, we must organize to draft the text of our proposed amendment.
Please write to and petition your state legislators to call for a constitutional convention for this purpose.
I think we need to go back to the system where being a politician was a part-time career. For a lot of positions, representatives had REAL jobs and worked on legislation outside of your real job. Think of Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird – full-time lawyer, part-time legislator.
These people have too much time on their hands to think of ways to control our lives. It's about time we get our government back. By, of, and FOR the people.
Right, Amy… but its more like they have too much time on their hands to contrive ways to amass more power and wealth and to stay in "public service" (what a joke) for as long as they possibly can.
We need to stop this nonsense where they go to Washington and stay there for the remainder of their careers. That make them responsible to the corporations and intrest groups that pay for them rather than to us who pay their salaries. TERM LIMITS is what its going to take; so they go there for a few years to do the peoples' business, then go the h$ll home. That way they could focus of what thety are supposed to be doing rather than gathering re-election support. I'm with you. Kip
I would like to add one more thing to your proposal. Considering that most of what is going on in Congress currently is in violation of the U. S. Constitution I think we should also add passing a comprehensive test on the U.S. Constitution as a requirement for getting your name on an election ballot. At least then they could not pretend ignorance when they are violating the Constitution.
Pelosi's answer to the question: "What part of the Constitution do you think gives Congress the authority to mandate that individuals have to purchase health insurance?" was "Are you serious? Are you serious?"
This simply does not cut it!

I can't tell you how many times that I have written to our Senators and received a junky email back, totally form when my questions called for a specific response. I called and their staff told me that they knew what was best. Bartlett is more responsive, however, he should be shouting from the rooftops every day calling them what they are. We need a total turnover in the House, Senate and Whitehouse with term limits.
The Press Release on "The Paradigm Shift" (Step 1) will be available soon on The Forgotten Men website and the podcast of today's show will be available in the WFMD audio archive by COB Monday. Please forward them to your FB friends and email lists as well as write letters to the editor and any other ways you can think of to get the message out! It will take a large effort by We The People turn this ship around. Don't you want to be a part of real change?
