Maryland has joined a host of other states who have introduced similar legislation. This is truly good news for citizens of Maryland who have watched in disgust as the federal government has steadily encroached on our state rights. As it says here at this site: The Tenth Amendment was adopted after the Constitutional ratification process to emphasize the fact that the states remained individual and unique sovereignties; that they were empowered in areas that the Constitution did not delegate to the federal government. With this in mind, any federal attempt to legislate beyond the Constitutional limits of Congress’ authority is a usurpation of state sovereignty – and unconstitutional. Thanks Joshua and Mark of the Forgotten Men for helping to get this legislation introduced!
