We can not wait to move to AZ! Let me ask you this Derek; Do you think the people are willing to make that sacrifice to Nullify? We all know that the first response from the central government will be to put a choke hold on people if they Nullify. It is my opinion that things are coming to a boil in this country and we are going to have to sacrifice a great deal in order to "contain" our government.
While the average citizen in this country is having to make the decision between paying the utitlities (which are about to rise again here in Florida) and buying food, our president is making a trip to India tomorrow with many escort aircraft, ship movements, and countless millions of dollars. How do we affectively get a grip? Many state legislators are fearful and ruled by our Central Government! We have a long road to hoe!
In military planning, the planner always tries to make an educated guess about the enemy's Most Dangerous Course of Action (MDCOA) and Most Probable Course of Action (MPCOA). So we have to ask ourselves not only what the fed gov might do when faced with state nullification, but also what they are probably going to do. We should keep in mind their MDCOA and have contingency plans to address it. But our general plan should be built around their MPCOA.
Here's my tentative assessment of the fed gov's MPCOA and MDCOA in response to state nullification. It's a rough assessment, because a lot depends on the particular act being nullified and how many states nullify it simultaneously. But generally speaking, I would say that their MPCOA IF they risk doing anything at all, will be to do next to nothing. They might make a few empty threats, offer some some bribes to state officials in exchange for compliance or maybe even attempt to frighten us by making examples of a few people. "Random" IRS audits are often used for such purposes. But they haven't put a choke hold on the states that nullified REAL ID or the ones like CA who have nullified the federal prohibition of medical marijuana. None of these states has had their highway funds withheld or has faced any other sanctions, to my knowledge.
Their MDCOA would be to use the military to enforce the unconstitutional federal law or to send Federal Marshalls to arrest a governor or other state or local officials. But that would be an incredibly dumb move and a public relations nightmare, especially since the 2012 elections will be on their mind and you can imagine what the public reaction might be.
