When I worked at Port Columbus International back in the 80's I was train in searching guests as would an police officer would also when a female needed to be search we would have one of our female officer's to conduct the search, if a female officer was not working we would ask the guest was it ok for a male officer to search her while either a supervisor or manager was preent. If she said no, we would advise her that the Airport police would have to search her it would be 10-15 mins before one was in the area.99.9% of the time we had no trouble and they were more than willing to help us out when we ask the questions any weapons ect type questions. It all comes down to one's training and how you treat guests threw an airport i am not saying to be a walk over but do your job trust your training and be nice to everyone. this will make your job easier.
Understanding since the 80's a lot has change namely 911 and more people are scare now then before, still treat a person the way you want to be treated. the threat of terror will always be there no matter what we do,yet keeping the peace and with better training threw our nation we will be able to better protect our guest's flying in and out state to state and abroad.
