So I Am Losing My Liberty! What Can I Do About It?

For those of us who have been awakened to the onslaught of government control in our lives, a feeling of helplessness often pervades. We simply do not know what to do after recognizing the danger.  Here I present seven critical steps that you can take in the process of regaining freedom.
The first step is becoming aware that freedom is in jeopardy. Many of us are already there.
The second is to become articulate in our founding documents, especially the U.S. Constitution.  Give emphasis to Article I, Section 8 and the Tenth Amendment.  The arguments they used for freedom are every bit as applicable today as they were then, for they are based upon natural law that does not change.  Familiarity is easily acquired as almost no one reads these documents today. Kill Shot!

It seems that the progressive movement strategy is that it will slowly advance our nation towards the ultimate goal of a communist state and every generation of progressives seems to march us one step closer to their utopia. They enact each step of their agenda one step at a time and after they completed a step they start pushing for the next step. This is the M.O. of the recently passed healthcare bill. This puts conservatives in the defensive mode of having to fight off the next wave of progressive change. In order to repeal the progressive agenda we must find a way to put them on the defensive.

In order to do this we must enact a constitutional amendment that removes all federal laws from the registry every election cycle of the House of Representatives. Any piece of legislation that was enacted during any term would be repealed automatically and have to be revoted on during the next term of the House of Representatives which would force them to re-campaign on those laws that they passed. This will also place a check on elected politicians who will manipulate the public in order to move the machinery of government to their will (instead of the people’s will) because anything they do will get an opportunity to be re-evaluated every election cycle. This destroys the permanency of any law because they have to be maintained indefinitely by public opinion which is unlikely to happen. This almost guarantees that the progressive agenda (or any agenda) will fail since public opinion is always dynamically changing from one generation to the next. Continue Reading →

The Political Inquisition Begins

Witch Trials

If this article doesn’t frighten you, it’s probably because you aren’t doing anything that really threatens to limit big government. As I read this article, a sinking feeling started to develop in the pit of my stomach. Is this what happens when patriotic citizens and state legislators begin to actually challenge entrenched RINOs and upset the statist quo? Frankly, it’s more than a little scary.

Discussing the Undiscussable

This Saturday I’ll be speaking twice in Austin, Texas, on — you’ll never guess — state nullification.  So far I’ve been having fun discussing this forbidden idea. The regime and its journalists expect the people to confine themselves to a discussion set on the central government’s terms.  We are not allowed to propose an idea that’s nowhere to be found on the three-by-five card of acceptable opinion.  Yet here we are.

Radio hosts have been much more receptive to the idea than I expected.  Most of the big radio hosts are of course playing it safe and refusing to discuss the issue, but I am consistently encountering sympathetic personalities who think the argument makes sense.  The Globe and Mail columnist Lew mentioned seems to like the book as well.  This is the second-largest newspaper in Canada.  He writes, “Quebec nullifies federal law all the time and Alberta nullifies it occasionally. Yet the country thrives. The fact is we need all the nullifiers we can get. It’s never wise to give a centralized government anything that approaches a quasi-monopoly on power.”

Patriots and Loyalists

In 1776 there were those who were known as Patriots “One who loves, supports, and defends one’s country.”  Our founders, the 56 dedicated souls that risked being hung for Treason who signed the Declaration of Independents were true Patriots.

In 1776 there were those that were called Loyalists “One who maintains loyalty to an established government, or political party, especially during war or revolutionary change.”

In 2010 we have a great crop of Loyalists.   We have the Democrat Loyalists and we have the Republican Loyalists.  Many of them are loyal to the throne of Washington, DC.  Others are loyal to the thrones in State Governments.  These Loyalists remain loyal to tax and spend, government welfare, corrupt and dishonest state and federal governments. They remain loyal career politicians who talk a great talk, but fail miserably when walking the walk…these are Loyalists!! Continue Reading →

What do we do about it? Nullify Now!

Thomas Jefferson:
“whensoever the General Government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force.”

“a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy…”
