Virginia HB259 – setting the foundation to prevent “the Board of Education from replacing the educational objectives known as the Standards of Learning with Common Core State Standards” – originally passed the House 77-22.
But a veto override attempt failed yesterday. It needed 66 votes and the result was 64-32.
