This is today’s Tenther newsletter, which everyone in the nullification movement gets daily or weekly. Be one of them

When I was young, cocky, AND totally ignorant – I actually identified as a communist.  I’ll have to tell you the full story of my long, slow transition away from that another time. But here’s the short version – a product of government schools, I was taught – very early on – that government was the solution to all our problems. And I really believed it.

Obviously, I couldn’t have been more wrong.

I’ve come a long way – and still have much to learn in life. But as I look back on those times, I’m always reminded of some of the books that helped open my eyes. There were quite a few, but no one seemed to have more impact on me – when I was a complete and utter statist – than the late, great libertarian writer, Harry Browne.

An article that really had an impact on me was one he originally wrote in the 1960s, a letter to his daughter, who was just 9 years old at the time. I remember being brought to tears as Harry told her that he wanted to give her something that would last a lifetime – one of understanding the gift of freedom.

I re-read it as a reminder almost every Christmas season – and I republish it here at TAC most years too. I hope it brings you as much meaning as it does for me.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year!
