I don't know that it's enough to tell them that "they no longer represent us". I think this is one case where it really is about them. The message needs to be "YOU have FAILED to do your job., you have FAILED to abide by your oath, and you have FAILED to represent us, therefore you will not hear from us again until your next job interview. Come prepared to answer questions and make sure that you have the correct answers. See you in 2010 and good luck!"

I could send my representatives letters telling them they no longer represent me but do you think they would actually see it?

What do you think the odds are we could get at least one news paper from every state (50 if your normal, 52 if you are our President) to print an open letter to Congress? "Dear Congressman of the 111th Congress, We the people in order to form a more perfect union hereby inform you your services are no longer needed. This is the last you will hear from us. We will not be writing, calling, faxing, e-mailing or sending smoke signals. The next time you here from us will be in the Spring of 2010 when we make our demands known. Please begin packing your bags now, move toward the exits in an orderly fashion and have a nice day."

I think we could get them to do it if someone is persuasive enough to remind them they don't sell many copies and this would help boost sales if they could all print our "Congressional Letter of Termination" on the front page on whatever day we decided. We could, perhaps, also promise to publish our demands in the same fashion.

What do you think the odds are we could get at least one news paper in every state (50 if your most people, 52 if you are our President) to print an open letter? "Dear Congressman of the 111th Congress, We the People in order to form a more perfect union hereby inform you that you no longer represent us. Please begin packing your bags now, move in an orderly fashion to the nearest exist and have a nice day."

A more powerful statement would be to get as many news papers as we could to print it on the same day; front page would be awesome, but I doubt they'd give us that.

If mainstream print wants to sell some papers I think they would benefit from giving us a front page article in the form of a Congressional Letter of Termination.
