I think these laws are great, but according to the liberal/progressive reading of the Commerce Clause (created by the courts), any thing that impacts interstate commerce can be regulated. Even wheat grown for personal consumption impacts interstate commerce by reducing the demand for wheat and thereby reducing price. If wheat grown solely for personal consumption impacts interstate commerce (in the idiotic and incorrect interpretation of SCOTUS), then surely firearms manufactured for sale in a state impact demand for firearms that are trafficked in interstate commerce and can be regulated. I'm not saying I agree with my assessment, but that is the easiest, almost surest way for the libs to fight (and win) in court unless SCOTUS grows some balls and overturns scores of years of bad CC juris prudence.
