This week I was quoted in the US News and World Report and the Recorder about California Gov. Jerry Brown signing a anti-surveillance bill into law.

The US News article (HERE) quoted me as saying SB828 is “something we can build on.”

“The final version of the bill sets a pretty high threshold before it actually requires state action,” Maharrey says, β€œ[but] I think we know where the opposition is coming from and we can overcome it [in the next legislative session].”

The Republic (HERE) captured a similar message.

“The journey SB828 took gives us something to build on,” said Michael Maharrey. “We can build on this and overcome the lobbyists in 2015.”

For more details on what the bill does and doesn’t do, read my report HERE.
