Tennessee SB39 would ban the use of specified military equipment in the state, effectively blocking the Pentagon 1033 program that has been militarizing local police. It must pass successfully through the Senate Judiciary Committee before it can receive a vote in the full senate.
PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS – It doesn’t matter where you live in the state, please follow all these steps to support SB39.
1. Call the Senate Judiciary Committee Chair, Brian Kelsey. Strongly, but respectfully urge him to move this important bill forward to a vote in his committee. A phone call has 10x the impact of an email.
